Product Description


1. Main Application 

The equipment is used for crimping the teeth of the header plates and locking the plastic tank tight to the core body to form a sealed space between the crimped plastic tank, sealing gasket and header plate.  


2. Main Characteristics 

 The equipment drives the left and right crimping device forward through the ball screw driven by the servo motor. The equipment is PLC controlled, and the crimping program is set up through the touch screen. The touch screen can indicate the working status, and the control system stores various radiator crimping parameters. The equipment has functions such as plastic tank water inlet dodge and virtual travel speed-up, making itself suitable for crimping of plastic tanks and header plates of different specifications. The machine is divided into a long header and a short header crimping mechanism which separately crimps the long header plate and the short header plate. The equipment has a fast speed and a stable performance.

4. Operation Method 

a) manual operation: the machine is operated step by step by operation on the touch screen. This is usually carried out during testing and adjustment.  

b) automatic running: only when the machine is reset, it can run automatically. 

c) interlock device: the machine has interlock device to avoid movement mistake. When one movement is not finished, the next following movement can’t be started (both at the manual and automatic mode). 


5. Equipment Structure 

The equipment is mainly comprised of machine body, clamping mechanism, long-side header crimping mechanism, and short-side header crimping mechanism, electrical control system, and pneumatic control system. 

5.1 machine body: this is the basis of the machine and bears the weight of all the mechanisms.  

5.2 core clamping mechanism: before crimping, the radiator core is clamped to avoid core shifting in the crimping process.    

   a) rotation hand wheel /screw: the distance of the clamping rail is adjusted to deal with different header widths.  

   b) clamping cylinder: pneumatic component to drive the clamping guide rail;   

   c) clamping guide rail: to load the radiator core and clamp it;   

5.3 plastic tank crimping mechanism: the crimping mechanism is to press tightly the tank, gasket and header to get a sealing effect. 

    a) compression rubber head: rubber parts which contact the tank in the crimping process to avoid scratches. 

    b) compression cylinder: provide driving force of the pneumatic components; 

    c) cylinder bracket: provide installation position of the compression cylinder, and bear the weight when the cylinder is working. 

5.4 long-side header crimping mechanism: this is the key mechanism of the machine. It pushes over the long-side header teeth, and then press down the header teeth to achieve a sealing effect.

 a) crimping claw forward cylinder: move the crimping claws to the right position and push over the header teeth;     

b) crimping claw forward servo motor: the crimping claws are moved to the right position (long-side header direction) through the screw;  

c) crimping cylinder: the crimping cylinder provides the crimping force to the claws so that the teeth and gasket are tightly combined together.   

d) crimping claw mechanism: including crimping claws, position block, cylinder connection block, and shaft. 

5.5 short-side header crimping mechanism: this is an auxiliary device of the machine. It is used to crimp the short-side header. It is comprised of crimping claw forward cylinder, crimping claws, and crimping cylinder. Since the crimping claw is not to move along the short side header, there is no servo motor.  

5.6 electrical control system: including PLC, servo control system, HMI, air switch, contactors, intermediate relays, low voltage stabilizer, isolation transformer, etc.     

a) touch screen set with many buttons for operation; 

b) working principle: the control system is PLC based. The input terminals of PLC are connected with switches, sensors and servo drive to enable signal feedback and movement control. The output terminals of PLC control ON/OFF of intermediate relays and servo drive to control the execution components. 

c) The PLC program can save about 100 crimping processes.  

5.7 pneumatic system: the working pressure is controlled by a filtration reduction valve. The air source should be stable and kept above 0.6Mpa. The electromagnetic direction changing valve is used to control the direction of the cylinders. The compression cylinders are equipped with the independent reduction valves.
